  • Our students include complete beginners, athletes, teachers, professionals, artists, parents, manual therapists, entrepreneurs, and more.

    What they have in common is a desire to learn, improve, and engage in a long-term practice.

  • No. This is a great place to start reclaiming physical fitness. We’ll meet you wherever you’re at.

  • Yes. Every session is meticulously designed with progressions and variations tailored to each student. You’ll be challenged appropriately.

  • Many of our students start there. We adapt training to your current capacity and use it to heal your body along the way.

  • Yes. We have students in their 60s and beyond. We deliberately cultivate our practice so it can continue to serve us for the rest of our lives.

  • Yes. We train coordination, adaptability, and strength - qualities that transfer directly to athletic performance across disciplines.

  • Within those 2 hours, we are changing frequently the modes and flavors of work. You get a lot done, without exceeding your capacity. People are often surprised to hear 2 hours have passed.

Joining A Class

  • You will join the group, with work adjusted to your needs. You’ll face a variety of challenges, but none beyond your capability.

  • Each session begins with demonstration and instruction. Students work together as a group, guided and observed by teachers. We move through various subjects and projects within a single class.

  • Comfortable clothes you can move in, and curiosity.

  • People arrive with different backgrounds, goals, and levels of experience, but share a commitment to learning and practice.

    Our community is welcoming to newcomers and supportive of the learning process. Students work together, help one another, and share in the challenges and successes that come with practice.

What Our Practice Is Like

  • Expect anything from groundwork and balance drills to strength development, partner games, coordination tasks, and more.

  • We follow a curriculum mapped out in 3–6 month cycles. There is a very clear direction of progress.

  • Students commonly notice improvements in strength, mobility, balance, coordination, and confidence moving their bodies. Over time many also report that the practice carries into daily life, sports, and other physical activities.

  • Most disciplines specialize. We bring together strength, mobility, coordination, balance, partner work, ground movement, and skill development into a single practice. The goal is not mastery of one domain, but broad physical development.

Logistics

  • Start with what is sustainable for you. We recommend at least twice per week to start. Some students attend more frequently.

  • You’re welcome to drop in. But like anywhere else, consistency is what produces results.

  • Yes. We are happy to arrange 1 on 1 sessions based on your specific interests.

  • The community is led by two practitioners with over a decade of mentorship under Ido Portal and ongoing personal practice.
